AMBASSADOR KLAS MALMBERGExposure Underwater introduce Klas Malmberg one of our Ambassador's and 2013 Swedish Champion in UW photography.

About Klas

”My highest wish is to grow gills - then I dont have to carry all that dive equipment."

Klas is a marinebiologist who rather stay in the marine element learning how to get close to the animals. The more time he spend in the water the more lucky he seems to get and succeed in getting the pictures he want. Klas have two favorite groups of marine animals. It is the sharks that always has been fascinating to interact with and the brightly colored nudibranches that Klas find to be the most beautiful creatures in the sea.

Interview with Klas

Why underwater photography?
It gives me a possibility to explain why it is so fantastic under the surface.

What's best about it?
There is a total harmony with the water element and a great possibility to get close to so many animals.

What's worst about it?

To freeze your fingers so you cry when coming the surface and still wanting to take more pictures…

Favourite places?
My facourites are the Norwegian fjords and the beatiful islands of the Philippine archipelago.

More about Henrik Jonsson

Let us introduce our Ambassador Henrik Jonsson

Henrik has been photographing since childhood and received his first photo published at the age of nine. He has won the Nordic Championships in in UW photography and was awarded at the Gothenburg Photo & Film Festival. Apart from publishing his images in places like the Swedish Museum of Natural History's advertising campaigns Henrik has held courses in photography for many many years. He is an experienced diver, traveler and diving instructor who have explored five continents over the past decade. Henrik also ventured into the world of video and shot a set of music videos underwater.

“Photography is a part of my daily work and still photography is a great passion in my life. I like the filmistic feeling that a big sensor brings into the image. After photographing underwater for a while I got frustrated swimming in lines and a divemaster hearding me and my buddy with a flock of other divers. In my opinion diving and underwater photography is done in buddy pairs and without any stress and speed. Exposure Expeditions is all about creative underwater photography, good opportunities and to give the guests time and piece of mind to do the work".

Henrik's tips for underwater photographers

1. Big pictures require big light. The sun is the biggest light we have – use it.

2. It’s not the number of dives that matters - it’s the hours of preparations.

3. And it’s not just the time spent underwater that matters - it’s the time spent in the viewfinder.

4. Don’t get close to the animals. Get really really close.
