Insta360 X5 camera
The Insta360 X5 refines the 360-degree formula, addressing creators’ concerns. It features a robust, IP68-certified body with enhanced waterproofing, providing a rugged feel. The dual 1/1.28” sensors and new triple-AI chip pipeline significantly improve low-light performance. PureVideo mode offers cleaner footage with better noise reduction and highlight protection compared to the X4 in dark conditions.

The 8K/30fps 360 capture remains reliable, delivering richer colors and cleaner footage in high-contrast daylight. The user-replaceable lens design, combined with the advanced optics in the Nauticam housing, ensures superior results. The “shoot first, frame later” workflow is powerful, supported by a new InstaFrame mode that captures 360 and a 1080p flat, auto-tracked video for instant sharing. The Invisible Selfie Stick and FlowState stabilization make third-person follow shots look like drone footage.

The housing

Underwater imaging through poorly designed ports often causes distortion, softness, and internal reflections. Nauticam uses precision-engineered optical elements that maintain a very wide field of view while reducing distortion and glare.
For researchers, security and inspection tasks, this improves the accuracy of visual data and documentation it also ensures clearer evidence and better detail recognition.

Each lens has a 190-degree angle of view and is made up of three elements in two groups. These lenses are coated with anti-reflection material and have a working distance of 0 to infinity.

When paired with the Insta360 X5’s 360-degree capture capability, the system records the entire surrounding environment. For research, this enables comprehensive environmental documentation and post-dive reframing.
For security and infrastructure inspection, it provides full situational awareness and allows analysts to review all angles after the operation.

To use the housing, you’ll need to remove the original outer lenses (one from each side) of the Insta360 X5 camera using the included tool. Once the back door is closed, the camera automatically activates dive mode within the housing. The housing provides 1x 1/4’’-20 threaded hole and 2x M5 threaded holes for mounting points.
