Lens ports & wet lenses

When you know what lens you want to use then you check Nauticam's updated port charts to find the recommended lens port or wet lens solution (sold separately).

Nauticam port charts

There are different port charts depending on your underwater housing's port size (N120, N100, N85 or N50), and which camera brand. You will probably find more than one port combination, or wetlens solution.

If you want our expertise to support when you choose we are here to help, contact us. Reminder - Add a manual zoom gear or focus gear if you need that (also stated in the port chart.

Introducing NA-A1II
Introducing the NA-α1II Housing for both the Sony α1II and Sony α9III mirrorless cameras. Sony's a1II and a9III cameras cover every shooter's needs whether it's high-resolution or low-light photography or 8K video and having one housing that accommodated both models allows for having a complete imaging toolbox on every trip with only one housing.

The Sony a1 II and a9 III Cameras

The Sony a1 II and a9 III Cameras are Sony's pro-level bodies that cover the entire gamut of imaging requirements.

Sony a1 II

The a1 II is Sony's flagship high-resolution camera body with incredible autofocus and impressive video capabilities. Built around a 50MP stacked BSI CMOS sensor and powered by the advanced BIONZ XR processor, the a1 II features upgraded autofocus, subject tracking, and IBIS.

Sony a9 III

The a9 III fills the role of a high sensitivity sensor with a true global shutter. Capable of shooting 4K 120fps from the full sensor area, the a9 III produces very clean high frame rate video even in less than ideal lighting conditions.

Shared Specs

The a1 II and a9 III share a body which makes the NA-a1ii housing possible without any adapters, modifications or loss of features. They also share the incredible 9.4M-dot electronic viewfinder from the A7RV.

Premium Professional Optics

Inspired by the water contact lens designs of decades before, Nauticam is continually developing new optical accessories that raise the bar of what is possible in underwater imaging. Designed with modern lens design software and fully optimized for in-water use, these lenses provide significantly better performance than an in-air lens behind a dome or flat port alone. The NA-A9II can leverage the unparalleled optical quality of Nauticam's Water Contact optics such as the FCP-1, WACP-1 or WWL-1B which offers up to 170º field-of-view, full zoom through, an almost 0" minimum focus distance with supported lenses. For macro, the SMC-1 and SMC-2 deliver tack-sharp super-macro magnification levels up to 4x with the Sony 90mm macro lens.

Viewfinders

The standard optical glass viewfinder is very good and travel-friendly, but many photographers prefer the ease of a magnified viewfinder with an adjustable diopter. Nauticam produces a "straight" 180º enlarging viewfinder and a 45º angled enlarging viewfinder to enhance the ease of close-quarters work often associated with macro shooting. Both viewfinders have high-quality optics and allow bright viewing of the entire image. A patented external dioptric adjustment allows personal adjustment to a sharp-as-a-tack standard underwater and viewfinder changes can be executed in less than 30 seconds without using tools. Exceptional composition and focus accuracy have never been more accessible.

Build Quality

Nauticam build quality is simply unmatched, using cutting-edge product design and modern, innovative manufacturing techniques that result in trouble-free reliability. A bit like a fine Swiss timepiece, the complexity under the hood results in a trouble-free user experience that just works, and keeps working for years to come.

Flash triggering

Please set the "Sync Terminal Settings" to always, then camera can output a flash signal to the Multi Interface Shoe when shooting.

MENU -> (Exposure/Color) -> (Flash) -> (Sync Terminal Settings) -> Always

Integrated Vacuum Check and Leak Detection System

The Nauticam vacuum check and leak detection system is shipped with NA-A9III as standard equipment. Combined with an accessory vacuum valve (PN 25624), this monitoring system provides constant updates on the water-tight and safe-to-dive status of the housing. A simple color-coded LED lighting system lets the user know that the vacuum is solid, or that the housing is losing vacuum. Leak detection is built into the same circuit, so if there is water intrusion, an audible and visual indication will occur.

The Nauticam system is temperature compensated, eliminating false alarms caused by a change in outside temperature, or from a camera heating up on an action-packed dive.
